A STEP BY STEP GUIDE TO JOINING & REGISTRATION

  1. As the owners of all registered horses need to be financial members, you will need to apply to join the company.   An APPLICATION FOR MEMBERSHIP form and a fee schedule are available for downloading from the forms page on this site or alternatively you can contact us via one of the email addresses on our home page and we will post or email them to you.  ALL FORMS ARE IN PDF FORMAT AND REQUIRE ACROBAT READER; A FREE COPY OF THIS SOFTWARE IS AVAILABLE FROM THE ADOBE WEBSITE

  2. If your horse or pony is 2 years of age and over, you will need to download an APPLICATION FOR CLASSIFICATION and APPLICATION FOR REGISTRATION (make sure you print out the right one for the colour of your horse or pony).  If you have a youngster that is under 2 years of age, you will need an APPLICATION FOR FOAL RECORDING.

  3. When you have downloaded the forms, fill them out paying particular attention to the information that is required.  Applications for registration of studbook stock must be accompanied by PROOF OF BREEDING by way of either a service certificate, copy of other breed registration certificate or statutory declaration.  The same applies for geldings where parentage is known.  Failure to supply this information will delay the processing of your registration.

  4. For horses under 2 years of age,  you are also required to lodge a coloured photograph of the horse.

  5. For horses 2 years of age & over, you will need to complete an application for classification form.  There are two versions of this form - one for cremellos and perlinos and one for all other colours.  The methods of classification available are clearly listed on these forms - select the one which is most convenient for you and make sure you understand exactly what is required and the fees involved.  If you choose the video method, ensure that everything requested is clearly shown.  For the photo & vet certificate method, the vet certificate is on the reverse of the form.  Once again, make sure your photos show all the features that are required and that the vet signs and dates the reverse of each one.

  6. Send all the forms (application for membership / classification / registration, video or photos & vet certificate, proof of breeding) and all fees owing to one of the addresses listed on our home page.

  7. If you have chosen physical classification (not available to members in Victoria and in parts of NSW) someone from the company will contact you to make arrangements.  Please be aware that for physical classifications, the classification fee is set by the branch concerned and should not be included in your cheque for membership and registration.

  8. Once the horse has been classified by whichever method chosen, the registrar processes it and in due course you will receive a registration certificate, proof of membership and a current copy of our magazine.  If you wish to show in the interim, please advise us and we will issue you with a showing certificate which must be discarded upon receipt of an official registration certificate.
